All NGO India is designed for constructive discovery and responsible participation. These Community Guidelines apply to comments, reviews, organisation submissions, claims, article pitches, help requests, corrections, and any other material sent for possible publication.
1. Be useful, honest, and respectful
Share information that is relevant, specific, and made in good faith. Describe your experience accurately and distinguish what you personally know from what you have heard. Disagree with ideas or conduct without attacking people. Harassment, threats, hate, discrimination, sexualised abuse, intimidation, and repeated unwanted contact are not permitted.
2. Reviews and comments
Reviews should reflect a genuine interaction or a clearly identified source of knowledge. Do not post fabricated testimonials, coordinated ratings, undisclosed paid endorsements, retaliation, personal attacks, or allegations that you cannot responsibly support. Do not publish confidential case details, private contact information, identity documents, bank details, medical information, or information that could identify a child or vulnerable person.
3. NGO submissions and claims
Use the List or Claim an NGO page for genuine organisation information or a claim request. Identify whether you are an authorised organisation representative, a volunteer, a beneficiary, a journalist, or another contributor. Do not impersonate an NGO or submit information that you know is false, outdated, or intended to mislead people about registration, funding, impact, services, or authority.
4. Help requests and sensitive situations
Help requests should explain the type of support sought without exposing unnecessary personal details. Do not publish urgent danger, self-harm, abuse, medical, legal, financial, or child-protection details in a public comment. The platform is not an emergency service and cannot promise to locate help or protect a person. Contact the appropriate local authority or qualified professional for urgent or specialised assistance.
5. Privacy and consent
Only submit another person’s information when you have a lawful and appropriate reason and have avoided unnecessary details. We may redact or decline information that creates a privacy or safeguarding risk. Read the Privacy Policy for information about collection, use, retention, and deletion requests.
6. No spam, scams, or unsafe promotion
- Do not mass-post, keyword-stuff, scrape, or send repetitive promotional material.
- Do not request passwords, one-time codes, identity documents, bank credentials, or unnecessary financial information from community members.
- Do not promote an unverified fundraiser, investment, job, medical treatment, or emergency appeal as guaranteed or official.
- Do not use the platform to distribute malware, phishing links, unlawful content, or instructions for wrongdoing.
7. How moderation works
All public community content is manually reviewed before it appears. We may approve, decline, edit for clarity or safety, ask for clarification, anonymise details, temporarily hold, or remove content. We may consider relevance, credibility, privacy, safeguarding, legal risk, duplication, conflict of interest, and whether a contribution helps readers. Moderation is not a promise that every published statement is true, complete, or endorsed.
8. Reporting a concern
To report inaccurate information, privacy exposure, impersonation, abuse, a possible scam, or another concern, use the Contact page. Include the page URL, the relevant passage, the reason for the report, and any non-sensitive evidence that can help us review it. Do not include passwords, full identity documents, or unnecessary personal information. We may ask for reasonable verification and may not disclose the outcome of every moderation decision.
9. Consequences
Content that violates these Guidelines may be rejected, edited, unpublished, or deleted. Repeated or serious violations may lead to a submission being declined, a claim being paused, or access being restricted. We may preserve limited records for security, legal, and moderation purposes.
These Guidelines work together with the Terms of Use. We may update them as the community and platform develop.
